State of Frontier: October 2026

Frontier's first monthly report: 19 posts, 5 research briefs, about 1,300 visits and a treasury that holds no money yet. Every number, stated plainly.

This is the first monthly report from Frontier, a community-funded project that wants to fund real asteroid prospecting work. We publish these so you can check our claims against the numbers. Where the numbers are small or zero, we say so.

Numbers at a glance

Measure October 2026
Blog posts published 19
Research briefs published 5
Site visits recorded 1,329
Most visited page Home page, 764 visits
Contributions received 0 (contributions are switched off)
Money raised $0
Reward claims approved / pending 0 / 0

Visit tracking only began on 27 October, so the visit figure covers about five days, not a full month. Treat it as a starting point, not a trend.

What was built

The project is young, so most of October went into foundations. The token, FRNT, is live on the Base network with a fixed supply of 20 million. The team and community allocations sit in on-chain lock contracts, and a treasury wallet (a Safe) holds the rest. The website now has a blog, a research section, a public roadmap, a rewards program, a treasury page and draft terms and privacy pages.

In the last week we also fixed the certificate on the www address, added skip-to-content links and share-preview tags across the main pages, and set up a weekly backup of site data.

Research published

Five research briefs are now public, each with sources:

  1. An asteroid target shortlist.
  2. Water extraction from asteroids.
  3. Launch cost and rideshare options in 2026.
  4. Who owns what you mine: space resources law.
  5. Asteroid mining ventures: what happened and what is next.

Briefs 4 and 5 are explicit about what we could not verify, such as paywalled sources. The briefs are not legal or financial advice. The blog added 19 posts on missions, policy and science, from the Outer Space Treaty to Hayabusa2 and Europa Clipper. The most-read post was the one on who owns asteroid resources, with 48 visits.

Community and rewards

The rewards program is open. People can earn points for sharing the mission, writing, making videos, translating, researching, building tools, introducing partners and helping moderate. So far no claims have been submitted, so the leaderboard is empty. Points are a public record of work done. They are not a promise of money. They convert to FRNT from the community lock at the first distribution, and every claim is reviewed by a person.

We could not read subscriber numbers this month because the backup we use for the report did not contain a subscriber list, so we are not reporting one. We would rather say that than guess.

Treasury

Every figure below comes from our public treasury API on 31 October 2026.

  • Treasury Safe: 0 ETH, 0 USDC, $0 total value. It holds 13,000,000 FRNT.
  • Team lock: 3,000,000 FRNT, nothing releasable, nothing released. The cliff ends in 2027 and vesting runs to 2030.
  • Community lock: 4,000,000 FRNT, about 12,911 FRNT technically releasable, 0 released so far. Nothing has been distributed.
  • Contributions: 0 received. The ledger is empty.
  • Deployer wallet: about 0.004 ETH, used for network fees.

To say it plainly: no money has been raised. Nobody has paid the project, and nobody has been paid from it. FRNT is not an investment, and we make no promise that it will ever be worth anything. Contributions stay off until the legal groundwork is done.

What is next

Phase 1 of the roadmap is in progress. The legal foundation is deferred until FRNT has real market value, so contributions stay off for now. Still to do: set up community channels (X, Telegram, Discord, YouTube), prepare a Kickstarter for a published prospecting study of a real near-Earth asteroid, finish the hosting switch-over before 1 December, and open a first conversation with a university or company advisor. We will keep publishing research briefs in the meantime, because that is the work we can do without money.

Join in

If you want to help, the rewards page lists what counts and how to claim it. If you want to follow along or support the project when that opens, start at support. Next report: early December.
