Privacy policy
Draft for legal review under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
- Visits. For every page view we record the page, the time, the referring site, whether the device is mobile or desktop, and your IP address. The IP address is used once to look up an approximate location (country, region, city) through a third-party service (ip-api.com) and to filter automated traffic. We do not use cookies for analytics and we do not use Google Analytics or advertising trackers.
- Contributions. If you contribute, we store the transaction hash, the sending wallet address, the amount, the name and message you chose to show, whether you asked to be anonymous, the time, your IP address and the approximate location derived from it.
- Rewards claims. If you claim a task, we store the handle, email, proof, note, optional wallet address, time, IP address and approximate location.
- Email. If you write to support@thefrontier.space, we keep the email to answer you.
- Admin sign-in. Project owners sign in with Google. We receive the account email address only, to check it against the owner list.
Why
To run the site, publish the contributor wall and leaderboard you asked to appear on, verify contributions and claims, prevent abuse, understand which countries the community comes from, and meet legal obligations.
Who sees it
Names and messages you choose to show are public. Country-level location may be shown on the contributor wall. Wallet addresses and transaction hashes are already public on the Base blockchain. Email addresses, IP addresses and city-level locations are visible only to project owners and are never sold. Hosting is on Railway; the Google sign-in and Search Console data pass through Google.
How long
Visit logs are kept for 13 months. Contribution and claim records are kept for as long as the project needs them for its public ledger and for tax or legal reasons.
Your rights
You may ask to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you by emailing support@thefrontier.space. We will answer within 20 working days. Blockchain records cannot be deleted by anyone. Complaints can also be made to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).
Children
The site is not directed at people under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
